A small dirt parking lot adjacent to an unused strip of concrete where all movements
on 35R are visible. Takeoffs from runway 17L are also visible, with some rollouts from
17L arrivals. There is some limited action on runway 35L/17R visible, along with
landings on runway 29. Taxiway Romeo is very close to this spot as well, making this
one of the best spots for close up action.
A dirt field that is slightly elevated above the fence, offering great views of arrivals
and partial takeoff rolls on 35R. Like spot A, takeoffs and rollouts on 17L are also
visible, along with a view of the taxiway bridge and some action on 35L/17R and 29.
A great view of taxiway Romeo along with a nice view of runway 35R. Along Romeo, the
fence line dips down below the actual taxiway, allowing for an unobstructed view.
There are several obstacles blocking the view of the actual runway.
When looking NE, the top of the fence partially blocks the view of the runway.
None, as the area with the picnic tables is technically a viewing area. It is recommended that you park at the official spot with the picnic tables, and then walk up onto the concrete. As always, do not park anywhere closer than 10 feet from the fence. Aircraft heading to runway 35R from Concourse A, B, and all other aprons will take the taxiway nearby, known as taxiway Romeo, providing an excellent close up view.
It is possible to walk south along McCall Way to get shots of aircraft right on the bridge.
